I have heard that the slime spawn has been turned off. I would like to know if this is true and if so why. Does anyone know?

What I know is that some people sell stikcy pistons for 2k and other for 400$ each.

Spawns in general are broken, nothing new shows up (aka I've been exploring new sections of the map for resources, and there are no spawns in any caves I've visited).

I was exploring new caves during last weekend, and I found at most, 5 mobs.
At least, when Optical fixes the spawn rate which is a major part of the server since it is a survival, has to post it.
We all are interested about that issue, and a post would be helpful.

It's either Optical fixes this, or he starts selling slimes in the Market. I would happily pay 500 for some slimes, but next to nobody has any, meaning that it's extremely hard to get your hands onto.

I currently have 26 of them, I'm just afk alot so I miss alot of chat (2 kids = hard to stay at pc)

What if someone wanted to get more than 26 sticky pistons in their work? Sure, thy could ask around but as I previously mentioned, Optical should add in slime balls to the Market.

Well before I had my slime farm I needed alot for my blaze farm ( 34 of them ) I got them from people, wasn't hard.

But I understand it's a pain that nothing is spawning atm, but this has happened 2 times before as far as i'm aware
and it usually gets fixed fairly quick.

I personally think in the market should only be things that are not renewable, ie, coal iron ect, but things like trees and stuff shouldn't be.
Everything I have built I have farmed, nothing has been brought unless it was from other people.

Thats just my thought though, it is a survival server after all not creative

Well, ATM slimes aren't a renewable resource and thus should be sold in the Market. There is plenty of room for one little item after all

Its also in single player maybe a protocol fail in the current version of minecraft

I agree that he should place them in Market, but I believe the situation that spawns rates are almost zero, doesnt concern Optical. This is what I understood from a conversation.

Btw, indeed, slimes are really hard to find. Players have stored slimes or sticky pistons.
I was searching 3 days for stickies or slimes. The price that I got was 1k-10k/each piston.  Luna-prices..
Thanks to two persons, that gave me 10+ sticky pistons for free each one, I almost completed my Blaze farm.

I think the slime issue NEEDS to be sorted out, it's vital, like removing part of the game without slimes in it...

I had to pay 30k for some slime balls... i have a place in my base where they USED to spawn, but they don't any more, it's annoying :/

As sticky pistons are one of the most useful and fun items in game, yes it should be sorted.
Remember things don't just fix instantly, other problems can occur ect.
Plus Opticals life doesn't revolve around the server, well maybe a large part does but i'm sure he has a million other things
to do.

we have no idea why slimes seemed to have stopped spawning - this may be an issue we need to send to the bukkit devs themselves.

I agree, the slime spawning glitch is a very large problem, but like someone stated earlier, opticalza and all the other mods and ops also have lifes. I myself have asked a million times to everybody "Did they get the slime spawning rate fixed?". I hope they get the slime spawning rate fixed soon, but we just need to work togethere as a server to overcome this issue. This isnt a PVP server (i`m guessing) so that we can work togethere for the better of the server. Thank you for your time.
