Ever noticed how once you reach the edge of a protected town...spawn...etc., ot's a bombshell? Everywhere you go, griefers take advantage of building areas, and trash it. I think either people should keep an eye on it (Mods+), or those sort of people should get a warning/ban. Who agrees!?

I actually, very briefly, thought about how good of an idea this would be.  Then I realized how much work that would be and there's no way anyone is going to be able to keep up to that task.  I've gone, myself, and tried to do a little cleanup around the spawn but it's just such a mess that you can't undo one thing without another 50 things going screwed up.  There's absolutely no way to sort it all out without regenerating the whole area, which can't be done because people do have current structures there.  So it just stays as is, and people like me will once in a while go and clean up abandoned doors/chests/furnaces.

True. true.

The only way to clean up the spawn area quickly would be to have WorldEdit powers, copy the building, then smooth out the area then paste the building again. Or offer up a service where people can have their building moved to a cleaner area and when most are done just completely flatten out the area and paste in a clean area. But griefers are going to grief. Looks like the largest chain of tnt went off in the area around spawn.

Only way to prevent future damage would be to whitelist the server which decreases server traffic. Trust me my last server tried that and it went to crap fast.

This is one of the reasons (As far as I know) of why there's a member world in progress. there are literary hundreds of different people who grief, and to type the full command to undo what they did, would take a tremendous amount of work, and it would be griefed again later on, anyways.

What should be done is copy all the good buildings, then regenarate the land so all the greif/utter c*** houses get destroyed while the good buildings are saved.
