I have waited quite a while, wondering what was happening, but is the 1.8 world ever going to be up for download?

The world files are there (Mainworld and Nether), and I have converted them into anvil and creative mode. However I believe this is quite an old version of the world.

How do you open a .dat?

- Opened up NBTedit
via terminal (Mac only)- Opened the world folder and opened level.dat (using NBTedit)

Ah, sorry. I had assumed you meant NBTedit was mac only. My bad. Thanks, I will go check it out
