I agree with Nick. Hopefully this will make me want to play minecraft again. And maybe Notch gave him lead developer because hes working on something else :O

He abandoned Minecraft for Scrolls.

I feel abandoned is not the word to be used here but more like He left Minecraft for Scrolls.

He got the max cash, which would have peaked over Minecon, then went down, as Minecon was huge for publicity. Then he went on to his next game.

But the word abandoned makes it seem like he left the game and no one else is continuing it.

Fine, agreed.

Can't believe a guy is actually digging his own grave..........

He left minecraft for a non original silly game called scrolls........
He just abandoned the thing that got him to the world of success??
Screw Notch!
And now lets be friendly with Jeb_ the one who really takes care of minecraft and still wants it improving
Gratz and good luck Jeb
But for Notch I am speechless

The game was fully released, that is not abandoning the game. he just moved onto a different game.

But still it is upgrading tho.

Maybe a few patches here and there but i doubt anything drastic will be put into it now.

The only big thing is the mod API early next year... Nothing else that I know of.

I find this to be a critical step rather than to be a lovable step.

While Notch started Minecraft, after there were more people on the job Notch was less and less active on making stuff and tweaking stuff on the server.

In my opinion, this is a real great step in moving on.

Agreed.

And welcome back, raul
