I thought of this while I was only walking around minecraft. I saw that my hunger bar drains very quick and I cant supply enough food and I usually go through 5 stacks of melons in one day and its starting to irritate me because its annoying going back to get food when I am doing something important. This doesn't normally happen in survival well to me anyway although it may only happen to a few people or maybe even the whole server I think it would be awesome to get it fixed.

I am not 100% sure if its part of minecraft altogether or just the server but I am just here to ask if its a bug and if it is could it please be fixed or if its just part of the game.

Melons have low food saturation level.
They don't keep you full for long.
Try a better diet, like meat (steak or porkchop) or bread. Mushroom stews are good, too.
Maybe stop sprinting or jumping excessively.
Hunger management is pretty much minecraft mechanics and has nothing to do with the server.

I use potatoes. And like Wone said, don't jump while sprinting. You lose a LOT of hunger doing that.

Ok because I always have melons lol no wonder I lose hunger quicker
