As the link points, there is a development build for 1.6. Might we update or wait for a more stable beta or recommended build?

I suspect the people responsible for updating this server would prefer to wait for a stable build.

I'm pretty sure we used a dev build for 1.5 when it first came out.

Nonsense, they're fine to use, just say that to scare you. If they were honestly so unstable to the point of not being used, they wouldn't release them.
