Aquain: Ozzy's City Beneath the Waves

Afro_

Welcome back, I haven't been able to sell but I'll start that laer today"

Good news everyone!

Making more progress on the city.  I added several buildings in the big, downtown dome that has been empty for months.  I also took out that big ugly cobblestone box and put in a staircase connecting the downtown dome to the rest of the city.  Plenty more to do though with downtown, but it is coming along.

Other big news is that Hopper2468 built a working aquarium in B1ueJ0ker's mansion!  It is pretty marvelous.  Using hoppers & dispensers it continually circulates fish through the water to look like there are actual fish in it.  It is pretty sweet.  Hopper did one hell of a job!

To check it out go to /home ozzykp lux

Go into B1ue's dome, go down one floor and it'll be there in front of you.  Hit the switch and watch the fish float by!

It is kind of hard to see, but if you look in the upper right, you can see a fish:

They come with luxury domes.  So for $80,000, you can have one too.  Or talk to Hopper and see if he will build you one elsewhere.

Awesome!  I can't promise when I'll finish it, but just be patient and it'll happen.  You'll be B1ue's neighbor.  :)

Also, I just made new textures for a fridge and a sink.  You can see both on display (as well as my oven) in B1ueJ0ker's kitchen.  (the workbench isn't my design, and is just a place holder for now)

I love the fish tank. You will have to show me it working.

Hopper fixed it!  Just head to your place and flip the switch, it should work fine now.

Also, new texture!!!  It'll take a while, but I'm going to replace all the stone brick floors with my new and vastly improved cobblestone slab floors:

Or, alternately, here is a version of it that is a bit bigger:

I really like the idea of pushing the limits of the textures.  I hate having everything in the game fit into the same standardized cubes.  This one breaks that by having the appearance of two 'tiles' that in fact are split between three different blocks.  When it lines up appropriately in my hallway when it looks like you have two full tiles it looks amazing.  However when it gets split up differently and it gets cut off mid-tile, it looks a bit off.

Is that worth the price?  I don't know.  Anyone have a preference between this screen shot and the one in the previous post?

I'm glad you like it!  Much of it is a mix of stuff I took from other packs, but there are several things I made myself.  I did a few quick mock-ups just to show off all the textures I created myself:

- The clock and news cast paintings are animated (though the current version of Optifine doesn't seem to handle painting animations).
- The fridge is two dispensers stacked on each other with a vertical ctm
- The oven is a furnace, and the washing machine is a dropper
- The red carpet is red wool, using a repeat ctm
- The wood floor is spruce planks, also a repeat ctm
- The ceiling is the bottom of orange wool
- The pipe is netherfence
- The green wallpaper is the sides of magenta wool, vertical ctm
- The keypad is a wooden button and the light is a torch

- The floor is the top of brick blocks, normal/classic ctm
- The yellow wallpaper is the sides of orange wool, vertical ctm
- The ceiling (used as a floor in the other pics) is cobblestone slab, repeat ctm
- The grocery shelves are cyan wool sides, random ctm
- Flower pots are... flower pots. [image no longer available]

Design you a whole texture pack?  haha, no.  You can see how little I've gotten done on this one after working on it for like 10 months, heh.

What days/times are you typically available?: Mainly the weekend and after school.
Why do you want to be a citizen of Aquain?: I love people who build these huge wonders of opticraft and I have never really gotten around to see this one so I would love to dive (haha) in a bit more to see the community of Aquain.
What position do you want?: Architect
How much time can you commit each week to this position?: Around 2 hours on week days, and around 4 hours on weekends. (I am serious about this.)
Why you should get the job: Well first I would like to grow up into a Architectural Engineer. I am a very skilled Minecrafter in building, redstone, and coming up with different styles. I am a very advanced builder even though I haven't gotten to much building done on opticraft (just collecting) I would put many materials and hours into the project. I also do a lot of drawing which is a benefit for the city because I can draw out plans before you actually build them. I also know the builders pretty well from opticraft. (except ChineseHorse). I hope you will consider me as a useful new member if I get accepted.
