        Ok, so as all of us should know, the community has been wanting pvp for a while. When it does come out, we will need places to pvp, right? So I was thinking that you could design your own pvp arena then apply to see if it is accepted. If it is accepted, it will be given project protection and be flagged for pvp and (possibly) given a warp point. If it is denied, the builder can choose to either work on it more and apply again later, or just scrap it and be done with. Its really up to them. So that was my idea, im sure it could use a little more perfection from other minds...  So tell me what you think!

I like this command, but I see problems which must be pointed out for any suggestion.

The issue I see is you setting your /home to the pvp arena.

[G] Chief149: Free diamond blocks at my /home!!!

Player teleports to /home, gets axed.

This could be something that is checked for as part of the application process, but homes can be changed any time. This would need to just be treated as a death trap type offense, but how would this be proven without players constantly screen recording? Some don't know how to take screen shots.

I regret thinking of this problem because I absolutely love this suggestion, but if there is a problem with it then it must be brought up.

Yes that is a good point, possibly it could be programmed to make it impossible to set your home there? I honestly dont know.

I am not a coder/dev/programmer in the slightest bit, but I wonder if its possible to disable /sethome in the arena's area, except for the owner of the arena, who'd be limited to only having one /home in the area to access the arena.

Perhaps a notification in chat saying
No no no, not today!
would come up for whomever attempts to set a home there.

I saw this at what I'm pretty sure is crippnfoot's red and blue future pvp arena. There is a spawn section with no pvp and an arena space for pvp. You set a /home or /warp in the spawn room, but the spawn is set to NO PVP. Then once you leave the spawn room and enter the pvp arena space, then it becomes pvp. So basically that chance of you getting spawn killed is impossible. The admins or whoever sets the pvp and no pvp zoning would have to be sure not to make the spawn room set to no pvp.

     Im not sure guys, I just thought this would be a cool way to get pvp arenas then it wasnt just the staff doing it the community could do it themselves or something like that and the Staff chooses one. Maybe there could be like a limit of 10 pvp arenas for the server at a time or something. And then if a current one becomes unpopular it could be vetoed and a new one would take its place.

It seems like you think people are disagreeing with this. No staff members or anyone at all said they didn't want this to happen so I'm not sure where you getting that from.

I like this idea  a lot to be honest, i doubt it will happen tho.

I understand the suggested part about there being a non-pvp spawn zone in which the /home or /warp goes, but the issue is when players set their home inside the pvp zone after the zone is approved.

The only way to prevent players from setting /home locations inside the pvp zones would be to edit the plugin that handles the /home command to interface with WorldGuard and determine if the /home location is being set in a region with the PVP flag set to ON.

Ya proably wont happen, it just came to me while I was sitting on the forums so I thought to say it.

If we decide to add pvp, all the arenas will be controlled by us.

         Ok, fair enough, just thought it was a goos idea. The arens could still be ontrolled by you but then the community could enter ideas of pvp arenas and you could choose if you want to accept them or not. Idk, up to you. Obviously Im not in much of a position to ake choices for the server as a member.

I mean, I know Nick as well as the other admins are against adding PVP. From my point of view however, it seems that the demand for it to be somehow implemented on this server has grown. People seem to be more up for it than a few months ago.

It is not that I am against it, it is more that I feel adding a form of PVP that is too simplistic (A few arenas of people just running in circles) will be a waste of time because once the initial excitement wears off very few people will play it. Plus it has a tendency to bring in cheaters to the server.
