Sorry, didnt know you were a mod and dealt with people like that. -.-

You are my favorite poster because i am usually the one to come up with the smart ass remarks, but since I am not home much anymore, it feels good to know you are doing it for me.

Proper response would have been "Just doing my job Nick"

ONTOPIC: Not a bad idea, just not that useful

I've seen this on a few PvP servers to define the team colours,

It is very much possible as I also seen it on PvP. And claw please remember we are not still in alpha 1.7, where you cant do anything plugin wise. There are many very skilled Java developers out there which can do pretty much anything.

but I don't see any use of having it here as optical or dejected might as well spend time developing something more useful. It would be intresting to have, but I can think of better things for them to spend time on

Agreed. They have much more important plugins to develop first. But this I do like this idea as it would also over come that problem of "mod grief" "yes, where?" "What are you doing in my house, stop griefing GTFO"

Boom. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/nametags/

Most plugins like this require some sort of API to run. (application programming interface) which basically means a program to run a program, in this case a plugin to run a plugin. Spout is a common API.

In other words it's not as simple as making a broadcast plugin. But that being said, it's still a nice idea.

It doesn't work very well with Essentials since each group inherit other permissions. Luckily the server permissions are based on pex, at least from what I know.

I was showing that as an example really. I'm sure if this suggestion went through, Optical would most likely code it himself.

I think its a cool idea,

But i don't really care if it happens or not because mainly everyone knows who is mod, operators, trusted, admin
It would look cool but it is not really useful.

I believe this is why we have titles.

Most mods, when it is a simple water placement don't speak when they first tp to the ticket. They just look around for where water should be placed. Thats why it might be useful.

Even though there are bad comments on this page I think it would be awesome!  Coloured names above your head, how come I couldn't think of it .

good idea

i LOVE this idea this would be awesome if it happened

Hey hey hey, I support this too :3

It's a good thing to have, but not a necessity. It'd be preferable if we could have it though!

I like as well.
I have been on numurous servers with this and it was awesome. Sometimes i need to know the ranks of people right away.
I could say it is easy to code, but i have no idea.
