When 1.3 comes out, emeralds should be available at the market and have the same buy and sell price.

I wouldn't say they would have the same price...

I wouldn't even make them available in the market, considering what they're used for.

Could they be as good as diamonds, but better?

I disagree, emeralds are intended on being rare adding them to the market would ruin them for not only me but I'm sure others as well. I would put these things up there with Sticky Pistons, nice hut not a necessity.

You use the to trade with villagers XD

Well you can trade them with villagers but they can also be crafted into very nice emerald blocks wlmuch like Gold or Iron but with a unique texture.

Also, it is noted that Emerald is 25 times more rare than Diamond, and only available on Extreme Hills.

Not a good idea, emeralds are too rare.  If they were sold at the market, that ruin things and make it too easy to obtain.
