I'm currently owner, founder, and builder of a small city, i just want to see what advice y'all experienced city owners have for a n00b at it like me. Also, posts on what makes your city great are welcome!

Anyone can build a bunch of buildings in a grid pattern, but in my opinion what makes a city truly special is the detailing. Streets, light posts, walkways, parks, planters, fountains, streams, bridges, etc. etc. etc.
Take a look in any (real) city and look at everything hanging around, besides the buildings. Then you'll have an idea of what to do with your city to make it special.
Good luck building!
