Hello.

I have been on this server for about a month now and have seen the lack of slimes spawning in the server. I am always needing sticky pistons but when I go mining and search for slimes none spawn. I have consulted with Zen00 and he said that there are spawning issues on the server due to the world expansion. Is there something I am missing or do they just not spawn.

Is this a bug and if yes when will it be fixed?

Thank you,
SN1PER_G0R1LLA

Every mobs are spawning low. I have heard from Victino that they are even spawning low in Singeplayer. Maybe the next update for Minecraft it will be fixed. Also, other people maked topics like you so it is better if you search the next time for it before making a topic.

What Boshi said.
Let's hope that our old slime chucks will work.
If they do, then we are gonna becomre damn rich..

Boshi? A friendly tip. Its Make-made-made. NO maked.

This is why I am still on school.

It's not only the expense of obtaining them, it's the tedious chore of finding someone who DOES have them that are willing to sell them. Optical should really put up slime balls up for sale at the Market.

Unfortunately, the people who paid thousands for their slime balls would suffer HUGE losses unless optical set the price to something around 8000 per slimeball.

$8000 per slime? You realize you need 12 slimes just for a simple 2x2 piston door. Imagine a 3x3 piston door with redstone T-switch flippity flops? I use 20+ in that system. That's a lot of cheese.

I just gave up on it. I'm selling slimes, guys. I'll sell them for $2000 each, cause I need the money! I have about six left.

24kgold? Dude? I used only 8 sticky for 4x2 door.

Spam? Dude? 4x2 is weird looking. 2x2 is clean and requires 12. Look it up, braj.

The systems that need more stickies are with T-flip-flops. That's an extra two sticky pistons on each side of the door. Know what I mean? Yours is just the lever, which is a system that takes less. It can be done with less, like everything, but to do something like this; you need mo'.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn1HggeB0Vk
Well nontheless the people who haven't got the slimes will save lots. This era in Opticraft shall go down as 'The un-awakening mobs'

"Spam? Dude?"

Hahaha. Its not wierd looking. It is just a big gate for my jungle area.
I like that gate, but it is too slow.
Anyway, if you are looking to make something like that, I can give you some stickies. On Friday though, because I am out of town.

Just to clarify, I never stated that it had to do with the world expansion.

As it is, spawns are broken in general due to some server fault of which I have no idea what it is. I have asked opti about it and he has stated that there is no fix available currently. We are probably going to have to wait till the next update to Minecraft before they start working again, which will be sometime near the end of this month/beginning of next month I hope.

The specifics of the error in general involve a need to know the mechanics of spawning. Suffice it to say that mods do still spawn on the very rare occasion (up to 10 mobs can spawn from a selected spawn point), but the algorithm which chooses that spawn point has been broken so that it only chooses to spawn on the very rare occasion, instead of often which used to be the case.

You can see this best in The End I believe. As the only thing that can spawn in The End is Endermen, you occasionally see packs of Endermen spawning there, though even so, not nearly as many as would normally spawn when compared to single player.

I have seen no slimes either. I hav only one sticky piston used to make a simple pitfall trap. I would be willing to sell although i would like to buy a lot for more of my conplicated traps.  24kgold, i would like to buy a slime, save one for me plz.

Actually you only need 4 slime to make a 2x2 door
