I spent $800 on mine and it plays every game on high settings. But I didnt need to buy an operating system, thats adds another $150 or so. And if you need a monitor add another $150. Plus a computer does way more than gaming.

My first choice would be PC, but if your going with a console get the ps3.

well, if you spend like $200 on a xbox or a ps3, plus the $50 games, and if you want a lot of games, that add up got be like $500, then you could get a decent desktop for that price, spartan is good at finding them.

A gaming laptop is a waste of money. They are always 10x more expensive for half the power of a desktop PC(they are like macs lol) To play minecraft, a laptop might be fine but you will want a desktop for actual PC gaming. Plus you will save hundreds with a desktop instead of a laptop.

My GPU (graphics card) has an hdmi output. If your GPU doesnt have an hdmi output you can buy a simple DVI to hdmi output (DVI is just as clear as hdmi).

And computer monitors can be better than TVs when it comes to display since they can have resolutions above 1080. And monitors are also cheaper than TV's.
