Why argue about this. Nick already said this:
13 is not an opticraft policy, almost every forum you sign up on will have that same statement because it has to.
That means it is something we have to put up. If the kids found us and can act mature why not just let them on. The mature ones cause no harm and in fact help us. We have dealt with immature players before so obviously we can handle it.

P.S. Some adult can be as immature as kids. So why single out just the kids. Ban the immature players and leave everyone else alone is my opinion because thats what we have been doing and what is working.

Think about it. What if, because you are not over 18 like me, you were banned from Opticraft? All your fun and hard work gone, just because you're not an age? Minecraft is a game, centered around kids. They pretty much are supposed to be here, so why discriminate?

Edit - Who can help me resize my signature?
I don't play Minecraft anymore and hardly come back to these forums. If you want to contact me, find me on Steam or Instagram. Username for everything is SalsaInABowl.

What do you mean? If people act immature on the forums, they'll get a bann aswell.
Regardless of what age you are.

The sentence above this one is false

Guys listen to yourselfs. Your saying there should be an older age limite. Well the man who made minecraft made it to be for kids. The game revolves about creations and kids playing and having fun. You guys are saying there needs to be an age limite on who can play. I don't think that is fair. Because what was the game made for?? it was made for kids to have fun and create and survive.

The rule should be everyone must act 13 and older, not be 13 and older. Actually, that kind of already is a rule because those who don't act like they're 13 or older just get banned for griefing, or doing something else that is stupid. If they don't act immature then how would we know they are underaged. Of course I'm talking about the players that don't tell us their real age, like Lema, or post pictures of themselves, and I'm not factoring in mumble because not too many players use it.

Or we can continue with what we've been doing before; which is not treat people differently because of their age. because the bottom line is that this is just a game.

The content on the forums however may not be suitable for kids. Buuut as I always say "Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB" >:D

everyone is arguing about playing the game. it is perfectly ok for them to play the game and be on opticraft. the part that i have concern for is the fact that they are going against the opticraft terms by signing up on the forum. when you sign up on the opticraft web site, it asks you if you are 13+. look, bottom line is, if they play on the server, that is fine but when they are on the forums when they are not supposed to, it can get opticraft in trouble because it goes against the law.

I honestly think this law is being overlooked far too much. As like a lot of you... I don't have an issue with minors on the game. but by singing up on the forums the law is being broken. these people then go and sign up for op/mod and jeopardise them selves and opti. it needs to be looked in to and the people need sussing out.

Being only my opinion... i don't care what you have to say about it, in all honesty. Unless you agree

The real reason this suggestion is being brought up is because lordyokel here wants to bring something up in order to make his own image greater. And I've been seeing this going on with a lot of newcomers.

As I've mentioned before, That law should only come into effect if someone complains, or if any information gathered on the ~13 year olds information is released (Which is illegal in the first place due to the Internet privacy acts)

...First off, this was a very pointed and slanderous comment. Assuming the worst of people is no way to help build community here at Opticraft. Everything that he said was completely constructive. In my opinion, you should be ashamed of yourself for speaking down to him simply because you have been here longer.

That being said, I think that if someone in the Opticraft community knows, for a fact, that someone has broken the terms and conditions then they have an obligation to report that person. Feigning ignorance doesn't have a very strong legal precedent, and it is always better to be safe than sorry.

It's not slanderous. I'm just pointing out the obvious ^^
I used to do things like that as well for many boards that I was new to, and I see lots of people doing it as well. However in this case, I've been seeing topics pop up every few days for things already covered in the past (For the most part).

I think that portion is better left for Opticraft's administration to decide on.

What you said was very rude to lordyokel, just because you have been here first doesn't mean you can say whatever you want.

I would like to close this conversation by saying that we won't be enforcing any age rule because -
A - we don't have a way to know each and everyone's age
B - even if we did have, it wouldn't be fair and equal to be younger audience if they can't go on the forums like everyone else.

In the same breath I would like to ask the community to be a bit more mature on the forums, newer posts these days are becoming more and more innaproprite and/or useless. Please think before posting.
