Minecraft - XBOX Version
« on: May 08, 2012, 10:02:44 pm »
Coming out tomorrow (May 9th). Anyone getting it?

General info:

-The player can optionally make use of Xbox Kinect functionality to assist in their gameplay, although Kinect functionality is not available at launch.

-The Xbox 360 edition doesn't make use of the standard crafting interface as in the original version, but still has similarities to the PC's 2x2 and 3x3 crafting grids. The interface doesn't require the Player to place items in the correct place in a crafting menu, but simply shows the blocks required to craft the selected item, and crafts it if the Player has enough blocks.

-The game features split-screen functionality. 4 players in split screen, as well as the possibility to play 8-person online multiplayer game modes in split-screen.

-Mods, Texture Packs and extra player skins will be available much later.

-The Xbox 360 edition includes a tutorial mode not included in the PC version of the game. This tutorial leads the player through the basics of mining and placing blocks, crafting as well as building their first house to survive the night.

-You always begin a new world with a map unlike the PC edition, the world is 1000x1000 blocks.

I have an Xbox 360, but I don't need to get it for the Xbox.  The PC is enough  :)

Meh, honestly I think it was unnecessary to port it to the 360, but at the same time it's quite interesting and might be pretty fun.

I have a feeling that it's going to be as disappointing as the phone version

It looks it, the multiplayer only supports 8 players unless they change that.

Yes, it only supports 8 people to a server which is a bummer but I have PS3 so FTW!!!

So, back in alpha, the minecraft terms and conditions stated that by purchasing the alpha version of minecraft, you would receive all future versions of the game. In beta, mojang changed to contract, modifying it so you wouldnt get every version of the game in the future. However, those who purchased minecraft during the alpha phase kept their original contract. Does this mean that a person who bought minecraft during the alpha stage would get the xbox version?
