what if we added a jail house to put the players not obeying the rules in there for an amount of time depending on the persons history or rule broken we also mute them

It has worked out on other smaller servers out there. It might be good to replace temp bans with it though, because jailing instead of muting/kicking would be a bit harsh.

I never understood the appeal of a jail. We will just kick you or mute you. It's pretty much a waste.

Maybe we could have not a jail but little cells and the time duration of the ban. I've seen this on a few servers. But maybe only the lastest ten bans

whether or not a ban/kick vs jailing is more harsh, we already have a working system.

yeah, I agree loaf. We needn't add any more complications to an already good system. I can see the appeal, but I think muting and kicking is more effective.

Jail sounds more fun than kicking tbh, I've seen it on other servers and worked really well but that's just me

SMP wasn't up in 2011, and I don't remember having jails in classic or beta 1.7/1.8.
