Status: Online

Hi guys,

As you are all aware SMP is currently offline. Don't worry - it's coming back soon (hopefully in the next few hours). No data has been lost - it is just a larger then normal DDOS attack. Currently working with that datacentre to resolve this and solve it for future attacks. I'll update the status once it changes.

Update: Server is back online. Just waiting for DNS to propagate. Can connect directly with the IP temporarily: 192.169.93.34 - but do not use this in long term!

a sort of hack
Also has this shut down the live map?

Everyone stay calm, and for anyone who doesn't know what a DDos attack is.  Basically someone is using a program to send large data packets to the server.  It causes it to lag out and crash.  Your accounts are not at risk, it's a novice level hack but does cause servers to restart.

Thanks Optical for looking into a solution to protect us in the future.

Awww damn I didnt watch the video because its private. That dude must be humiliated, I would be I mean I wouldn't hack anyone at all (plainly because I dont even know what hacking id let alone how to do it) but its so mean that someone would make videos of opti then hack us before the valentines party
