I was just chosen to work on a research program on my university! Basically there's two projects going on, one has to do with a NASA Satellite, and the other one with an experimental computer cluster thing. My C++ professor (who is also the director of the department) pulled me over since I've been getting all 10s on his class, and wanted me to join him on the research. I'm even gonna get paid for this. Also, for those who don't know I'm majoring on Video game Development I'm pretty excited for this. I thought I'd share this so you know what I'm up to  .

I have noticed an increase of locked topics "just because what is there to be said has been said"... I don't think that's reason to lock a topic, if someone is having the same issue or an opinion about the topic, they can't.
Also, if we want to discuss why ants are brown, why spiders are nasty, why we think Miley Cyrus looked disgusting (or fabulous) , on an Off topic forum, we should be able to, because that's what that board is, to express different opinions and critique.

Why you should become a moderator: As a former moderator, I think I have the experience (even though it's been a while) of knowing how to deal with most staff responsibilities the server needs. My last demotion was due to inactivity but I have grown my interest for Minecraft again, so I just decided I might as well give it a shot for this free time I have on my hands now .

Hello guys. Long time no see. Busy with college and all that good stuff. Anyways I am taking a programming class and I am wondering if any of you are familiar with Visual Basic language, as I could use some help. It's a fairly simple language but I find C++ to be much easier. If any of you know a thing or two about it let me know

Mojang has announced the release date of the Minecraft 1.3 which is set for August 1, 2012.
Now, a small reminder for all of you excited about playing the game, Backup your current minecraft.jar file BEFORE UPDTAING. Then you can have one minecraft.jar to play around with 1.3, and the other 1.2.5 jar to be able to play on Opticraft.
The server will remain in 1.2.5 until Bukkit updates, which can take days, or weeks.

Why you should become a moderator: Initially I was not thinking about re-applying after my demotion, but taking into consideration the New World, and the increase of population the server will have in the next month or so due to the 1.3 update, and as mentioned before the Members+ world I have decided to give it a shot again.
The staff has recruited wonderful and very admirable mods lately, but considering my experience, I could be a great asset to the server on those hectic times to come. Now, some of you may be wondering about my demotion and I don't think this is the place to explain what happened, and I will gladly answer this question privately to whoever asks. I don't consider my demotion "clear" or fair at all, since it was just an assumption with no physical proof (just an assumption) whatsoever. Now, I don't intend on being hostile to any of the staff members, or the admins but that's what I have to say about it.

I just bought this game, and it's downloading currently. It's a survival horror type of game, which I've seen a couple of vids and I have to admit it is the scariest game I've seen. It's an indie game and was crowned second best indie game of the year (first was minecraft ) . Hello everyone. Server is down for upgrade, so I figured I should make one of these. I have been playing with the Opticraft community since November 18 of 2011, and on SMP as soon as it went up earlier this year. If you want you could just make a copy of your jar and update it so you can try it out I'm pretty excited for this update. What are your thoughts on it?
