Guest and Member Chat
« on: February 14, 2012, 12:03:05 pm »
I am not sure if this has already been suggested, but a few of us in mumble were discussing how it would be nice to have a different colour for guest and member so that our new guests stand out more if they need help :)

/Cheers Drowse :)

Wait, are you talking about in-game or for mumble?
(sorry for the confusion)
But if your talking about in-game: there already is white to indicate guests and grey to indicate members.
If your talking about mumble: I'm no expert when it comes to mumble but I know that the 'vanilla' mumble server does not allow coloured names (but correct me if I'm wrong) But maybe there are plugin type feature to allow new people to have a white name, if that's what you mean? :S

No sorry I ment game chat, and yes guest is white and member is grey but imo they are very close in color with the chat and can get lost :) a nice bright orange or green would be a great color for guest ;)

Bright orange already represents a recruit, green already represents builders.  Leave things the way they are.

Drowse is talking about SMP, not Classic. ;)

I currently don't see a big problem with the colors of player names. The white and gray are easily distinguishable.

It's also what we use on the Classic server.
