Another stone you could use is Gold Ore or Iron Ore. I haven't seen them used so it could work.

Cant do that because when you mine gold ore you get gold ore.

I am curious if the silk touch can pick up a mob spawner.

These would be a big help, because instead of people using their /home as a town entry they could use the warp stones instead, so the town owner would not have to sacrifice his/her /home for the town.     ;)

A donation package for multi-homes is under progress for installation.
The owner will allow to donators have many if infinite homes.
