1) the IP is beta.opticraft.net
2) you need 1.8, not 1.0.0.

seeing as minecraft is no longer beta, when the server gets updated to 1.0, will it still be beta.opticraft.net?

Most likely not, maybe it will be smp.opticraft.net
optical:
smp.opticraft.net should already work, but yeah that will be the address.
