Actually the PS3 has an 8 core cell processor running at 1.6gHz (if I recall the frequency specs correctly, but I know the 8 core part is correct). 6 of those 8 cores can be used for another operating system if you decide to install another os on there (supported by the ps3). I guess the other 2 can only work with the PS3 os.

Then there's the 360 with a Tricore CPU of which I forget the model and frequency specs of.

Trust me when I say the PS3 trumps the Xbox360 in hardware.

The graphics on a PC are way better than any other current console in my opinion and most of the major games are available on steam so i have no idea why you are comparing it to the wii.

You don't have an opinion here unless you've owned and played both for a long time.
I've had both since they were both released and I can honestly say I have no 'favourite'.

They both serve their purpose very well, but here's the differences in my opinion:

PS3: More for entertainment over gaming. Obviously the online experience is not as talked about as xbox live is, but blueray and what not is a fairly good alternative.

xbox 360: More for gaming over entertainment. xbox live is more dominant over the playstation network, and there's a heck of a lot more features for the online experience.

As for hardware, (controllers, looks etc) I don't judge things off appearance, as long as they both serve their purpose.

I completely agree with deekay on this one.  They have there pros and cons.  Although I do prefer Xbox 360, for texting controllers, gaming experiences and other stuff.

I have both, as well, and I have to say... PS3.

It just does more and it does it well. There is nothing that the XBOX does that the PS can't (other than certain games).
