Okay, let's just assume for the moment that this does go into effect. Do you know how much the forums would get flooded with these requests?!? Heck, the amount of people that try out for Moderator is large, so what do you think will happen if this does get implemented? The forums would be as good as dead. The forums would have forum posts saying 'Why didn't I get Trusted?!?' or 'I am not a griefer so please promote me'. It would fill up and up and up with worthless crap. What would happen to the people who DO want to use the forums effectively? They get cut off.
I'm sorry, but this idea is flawed. Hand picking Trusted members right now is the best thing to do in my opinion.

I think if they have a city they could become trusted. Why greif when you could lose all that you own?

I always say the best way to be noticed is to be noticed. Plain and simple. Mods+ are the ones who usually put forward suggestions for the Trusted rank. However, don't immediately go spamming every mod out there trying to be their friend because there's a big difference between being noticed and being a nuisance.
Hanging and helping out Trusted's is a good way to get yourself noticed too. They already have the trusted rank, which usually means they hang out with a mod or two, and there is a chance they'll pass your name along to us as well.
The worst thing you can do if you want a Trusted rank is to play solo. You have to be out there making a name for yourself (in a good way) to get Trusted. I mean, the rank IS called Trusted. How can you be trusted if nobody knows you?
Cschurz: Suggestion for you, after 3 months without a ban the server gives you Trusted rank. Any ban removes it and restarts the 3 month timer.
