This is what i saw when i got on today, and it continued to grow. I wonder if we're kicking back into gear again...

So im considering buying full minecraft pretty soon and i figured why not play on the smp server being as the classic one has sucked up my time. I have been playing cracked minecraft for 9 months or somethin now so im not new to the game, however from what i've seen on the forums smp seems pretty confusing xD

Anyway I would be much abliged if some smp peeps posted some helpful tips and such for getting started on smp. I have no idea when im buying the game so just write it all out on here (vs. showin me around ingame). Here are some questions I have:

1) how does the whole ""economy"" work
2) How hard is it to get mod (how many hours)
3) since im an op am i automatically trusted?
4) How much space is left in the member world?
5) do mods get /tp
6) how many griefers do you get on average?
7) is there an irc channel
8 ) Why arent there any building ranks?

This is what I plan on making. It will be different from the real house but it will be based on the real "falling water" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright

Here is what I have so far, this is pretty tricky so it will take me a while. When it is done I am gonna ask an admin if I can go for crafter. I will have ten good builds.

Here is what I am planning on making:
Floor Plan
A large castle with different detailed and ornate rooms. What I have so far is basically just the floor plan laid out. I used different colors of wool to represent different sections of the castle. It is 212 blocks long and 110 blocks wide The circular room in the middle(the one with the fountain) is going to be the central hub to the entire castle. The fountain is going to have a not-so-secret tunnel in it, and the passage ways branching off the hub are going to lead to the respective side of the castle. The castle will have two wings (east wing and west wing) and the king's chambers at the back (only accessible through the fountain) The castle wall will be similar to the walls I used in my previous castle and will branch up making the top of the castle smaller. I will use beams and pillars for the roof that will look similar to this and will end in a final platform.

I thought it over and here is my main plan (in a paint doc, sorry it kinda sucks.)
There will be two wings connected by hallways, two (or four) small rooms, several tiny bedrooms and kitchens, and the king's chambers. All accessible from the central hub. Every room will be inside the main frame, being as this will be more like a normal house than my last castle, there will be rooms that are completely closed off. There may be empty spots in the castle where there is only air. Ill make windows only where windows are needed (so you cant tell there are empty spaces from outside). Its kinda hard to explain. Ill post an update picture showing what I mean when I have made some more progress!

Reason for application: Whenever I go into the guest or member world (unfortunately sometimes even the recruit world) I see grief all around. I help as many guests as I can; placing water, giving them reviews, etc. etc. but I can offer no help to those who have been griefed. Often when I am on guests ask me for a promotion and the best I can do is help/advice. Also when people complain about griefers the best I can do is threaten to tell an op later....of course by the time an op comes on the other guests have usually fixed all the griefing.

Why you should become an operator: I am mature, and given the rank of op I think I can help make the server run smooth and free of grief. I enjoy giving building advice and would be an avid app reviewer. Over the several months Ive been a part of this servers community I have met many of the other players. I think it would be great to be able to become one of the people that help moderate the server and make it a fun place for everyone.

Have you been temp-op before?: I just was temp op last night! (the 16th)

Extra information:I have plenty of free time to dedicate to the server. Also if I am not accepted as an operator I will still continue to help guests/members with reviews/placing water. A lot of ops spend time on both SMP and classic, but given as I have not purchased the full game yet I can dedicate all my free time to classic.
