I'm obsessed with the movie Inception! I've been listening to the soundtracks for ages and only just stumbled across this topic.
My personal favorite from Inception is this one.
or
From Tron Legacy: Solar Sailer.

Although I love every song from Tron Legacy.

Any of John Williams's epics:
-Indiana Jones - main theme, "Crusade of the Slave Children" (Temple of Doom)
-Star Wars - Main theme, "Imperial March", "The Asteroid Field"
-Superman - Main theme
-Harry Potter - Main theme
-Jurassic Park - Main theme
and so forth

Honorable mention:
-Pirates of the Caribbean - main theme
-Lord of the Rings - pretty much all of it, but especially "The Uruk-Hai", "The Lighting of the Beacons"
-Batman - main theme (Danny Elfman)
-James Bond - main theme
-Ben Hur - "Parade of the Charioteers"
-The Incredibles - "The Incredits"
-Star Treck (2009) - main theme
....I should stop.

Aw, geez. I made this huge post and didn't even notice video game themes were allowed. Well, it seems a second installment will be required. Sorry about the huge post.

That's a pretty good list Captain.
The "Imperial March" has to be the best character theme music ever.

Here's another cracking piece of cinematic history, if you mute the music (Ecstacy of Gold - Ennio Moricone) you can see how vitally important it is for this scene.

Seeing as no one's mentioned games yet, I think the Gears of War trailers deserve an honourable mention. I've never been as excited for a game as when I watched the trailers for the 1st and 2nd games.
Gears of War - Mad World - Gary Jules
Gears of War 2 - How It Will End - Devotchka, I Have a Rendezvous with Death - Alan Seeger

This has to be mentioned if we're going into Shawshank territory: The Marriage of Figaro - Mozart
