What does sticky topic mean?

Sorry I'm not a native speaker of English or I don't know 100% of the forum functions but I really need to know what it is.

A sticky topic is a topic that is always on top, For example: If you go into any kind of forum section there is likely to be a topic at the very top with a pin beside it.

'Sticky' topics are those that contain a great deal of information regarding a certain topic. For example, a sticky topic on the 'General' discussion board is 'A note on being trusted'. This contains a great deal of information on how to qutie possibly become a Trusted member.
