So what is the more efficient and a better money maker now? Pumpkins or melons?

Melons are halved now. But you can still make a lot of money with it and it is more worth then Pumpkins. Pumpkins are 160 for 32 and Melons are 240 for 32 and 480 for 64.

But by the time you have 64 melon blocks you would have double the money in pumpkins I think

I'll explain again, you break 3 melons, you have about 9 slices to make 1 melon block. You break a pumpkin u get 1 pumpkin, no crafting. 64 melons are $480, to get that you had to break about 192 melons. In that same time if you broke 192 pumpkins, you would have $960

yes pumpkins are worth less but take less to make, and grow at the same rate as melons with no waste. so pumpkins are the way to go, thats why I've never bothered with melons. they take way too long to make the money from

now need to replant my melon farm with pumkin farm

I wrote this in another thread.

This makes Pumpkins the new money maker, if my maths is correct, (I do suck at maths though)

I have 420 melons that when broken onaverage give me 4 slices, then I need 9 slices per melon.

So 420 * 4 = 1680
1680 / 9 = 186.6
186.6 / 64 = 2.91
2.91 * 480 = $1396.8

I have 420 Pumpins, once broken remainn whole.

So 420 / 64 = 6.5
6.5 * 320 = $2100

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

The pumpkins were always faster money but not the most.
Now, probably they are.
And, you dont need fortune or silk touch to take them. You just need efficiency/unbr in an axe.
With a very fast axe, you get a lot of money.
I think I will stay on mellons for the near future. When the college stop for summer break, maybe I will make the change..
