Hello, all. It's been a while since I had last done a major project, but I thought I'd get into a little discussion about this construction idea-- maybe get some advice/ help on this.

So, to get to the topic at hand, I have found a few ravines underneath the landscape where I have been mining in.

QuoteCity Name: Helm's Fissure
City Location: S/SW of spawn near my place (underground, in between bedrock and layer 60)
City Them: Antique/ Modern (Concept Reference)
Common/ most used materials: Stone (cobble, smooth), wood, obsidian, lava, glass, sandstone

Players Involved: Xeadin

This is the ravine in which I had discovered...

----
There is another ravine in which has been discovered by another party (that I had fell into on accident)
Here is a hole to access that ravine...

And a couple pics of that ravine.

So, my proposal that I could create a city out of these two ravines (there is a third ravine, but that one is a part of the Main Spawn). As always, it'd be much appreciated to get help/ support from other people as well.

It will be hard work, but the rewards (I will guarantee) will be worthwhile :)

Sounds like there will be alot of cities =O Goodluck.

You left a whole load of iron down there. Just saying. I went on an expedition and eventually gained access to those ravines.

But anyway, good luck!

I will begin developing the areas described for Helm's Fissure.

If anybody wants to offer a helping hand, you may do so. Please have a couple picks and shovels at hand, as there will be a lot of mining and clean-up to do.

I will be posting signs that will be telling people what some of the areas "may" contain, but the actual blueprint of how it's all going to be set up is still up in the air.

If you see me online, give me a shout. I am more than willing to help.

Sometimes life sucks.... but then you see a picture of Bowsette and everything gets better.

Update 2:

The residential avenue is shaping up

I have made an active cobble manufactory for the residential area. I may put up a bigger one in the other ravine, but that just depends on how much we may need it. We may just need this one, but... ::)

This is just a small community market. It has a heavy (piston-powered) door to store common goods.

You greedy boy :P

The satisfaction of building this is enough.

If I had any building skills I'd help.

"modterms" (I think someone's been playing too much minecraft :P)

I'd love to see the finished product Xeadin!  If I'm not too busy working on my WIP I'd be happy to help!  Just curious, have you actually made a stopping point within the ravines because don't they go on forever?  Or do you already have an idea of the magnitude of the city (say an average block length?)

Also will you build signal structures on the surface world to guide ppl to the ravine or will ppl have to find other ways to get there?
