So as long as I don't leave it for a week without improving, I can outline my project?

So long as your build is actually started before you log off.

ok i got it, but it does get annoying when peope build to close to your builds.
When life gives you lemons, throw them at your friends.

I am actually tempted to say that reserving space is a good idea. My point is that yesterday, I started to build in recruit (I don't feel my builds are good enough for operator/builder). Today I came back, and my build was totally surrounded by other builds, making new work on it impossible. I don't mean near, I mean on 1 side, the other build was touching, on the other sides, I had 1 to 2 blocks space.

As well as raising the bar for new recruits (As in making promotions much harder), I feel we should allow some sort of reservation, as long as there is progress to the build and a clear outline of the build, not a huge rectangle.

I feel some recruits (Not all, some just lack imagination) may be building smaller as they know that a half finished project counts for less than a finished one, and they will not have space to finish if they leave their builds.
i went around a few days ago and made sidewalks around about every road me and imp made to show where people they should stop building and i made more side streets to make smaller areas on the main roads coming off of spawn to show them to use less space
and to not take up half the length of the world writing your name out in lava making that entire area useless (no time for grammar ranting)

I'm not... But if you just look at the recruit world you will see it is becoming a problem so I bumped it for all recruits to see.

Oopsie... had moved it of SMP General Discussion on accident... ;D  Relocated

Moved to here to keep the number if stickies in the Server News forum low. Also, merged a similar stickied topic "Reserving space - recruits (other ranks too)"
