For old time's sake
« on: April 11, 2016, 02:10:36 am »
Hello! Friendly neighborhood Peanut530 here dropping in.

Maybe a couple people remember me (probably literally 2 or 3 people  ;D) from the ol SMP days a few years back. I was the guy with the crazy ambition of digging out a 1000x1000 mine hole. Or was it 10k by 10k? I don't even remember that's how long its been xD

Needless to say this server has some wonderful history and it's honestly heartwarming to see it's still alive. Back in those days, to me, Opticraft was the last good survival server out there. It had a good economy, the staff were wonderful, the players were adventurous and dramatical (not a bad thing!). The community here was amazing, and it deserves to stay that way and be revitalized again. I've dropped onto the site to check in every once in a while, and I'm glad the staff are really putting a lot of effort into bringing the server back to life. I'm very open to the ideas put forth and I'd be glad to help in any way I can, even if it's making posts on the forums about random banter  :P

For the *select* few that may remember me, or for those who don't, here's a little about me (I guess this is my "introduce yourself" post):

I love games and I love this server. Period.
I play on Xbox, Playstation, and PC. I play all sorts of games, such as Destiny, The Division, CoD, Assassins Creed, Civilization, Space Engineers, Arma II & III, etc.
I'm now in college studying Computer Science at Purdue University (Boiler Up!)
I regretfully still only own dogs in Minecraft, but hope to get one of my own soon!
Reading != fun (to me at least)
As far as programming goes, I am proficient in Java and am familiar/proficient with C with minor experience with C++ and Swift.
Blue is the best color out there, sorry ;p
Making a PC this summer. Ask for the specs if you wanna know below!
I have a home in the Old Member world in the Valhalla City area. Look for the pumpkins on the front of my house.

It's good to see some old names I recognize and hopefully I'll get to reacquaint with everyone over the summer. Hope SMP takes off again and brings back one of the best servers out there!

EDIT: the old mine area I wanted to dig out is actually 500*500, I don't know what I was thinking. With age comes less remembering I guess! I think it should still be visible on the Old Guest World map. It's a giant square and only one corner of it is taken down to stone if anyone wants to bother looking at it
