Can't connect to server

Hey,

Not sure if this is happening on my behalf, but I am unable to connect to the server.
I've tried restarting my client.

Had the same issue on my laptop, until I realised I was running 1.7 =p
I'm sure that's not the issue, but check it anyway?

When you start minecraft, in the bottom left corner it says edit profile, you press that and change it to the version you want . Ip, is smp.opticraft.net

And if you want to download minecraft (which i think you have) its:  https://minecraft.net/download
