Hmm, maybe if I get better at plugin developement I might take a crack at making an open source pvp arena battle plugin once I finish my currently open project. Then again I also have redprotect to code and the player2player trade plugin I thought of a while back.

It meant no killing other players by lava, destroying blocks under them that lead to death, or death traps

Nope, it will be the PVP map that nobody can /warp or /home too lol. Metropolis is just a city.

Will you be able to take your items into here or will your items disappear as you enter this world and you will have
to get equipment from chests? Also if you create an alliance will you have to turn on them eventually or is there a way
for both of you to win? Will there be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place? Finally, will you be able to bet on
PVP matches?

You can take your own items in. There won't be equipment, and you can come and go in the arenas as you please. No prizes, and as far as I know there's nothing wrong with betting.

If any staff abuse their powers of godmode/flying etc. to kill or have an advantage over other players, as with other things that staff can do, it will cause a demotion. But I really think it goes without saying as staff are trusted with responsibilities already.

Right now, as said before, it is only free for all PvP so no other gamemodes.
