Go to /home 2468avc, turn to your left, walk down the corridor, there are 3 sections of trading rooms with 3 machines in each. Here is how the mechanism works: You place the item/block inside the "give" chest as payment. For every valid item that goes into the give chest, 1 item/block of what you wanted in the first place will appear for you in the top "receive" chest.
The mechanism uses a filtration system so if you put in a item/block that the "give" sign doesn't list into the "give" chest, the item/block will be taken but you will not receive any payment because you did not pay correctly. If you do somehow manage to accidentally place a valuable item/block in the "give" chest and it is eaten, /msg or /mail me or 2468avc to get it back.
The mechnism is super compact and fairly easy to make. The only rare/valuable item needed is a redstone comparator which requires 1 nether quartz (Rare/Valuable in Opticraft) to to be made. Here is the link for the video that avc and I used to make these machines:
