A much easier way to downgrade is to use MCNostalgia
And yes - It's legal, since it doesn't have much to do with the minecraft.jar

Well, it wouldnt be realistic then :P

The point is is that when you walk on a field of farm land, the crop don't just suddenly get trampled. Just like how when you walk on a hoed land, it doesn't get un-hoed, as long as you don't kick it up or mess with it.
