potions suck, their duration sucks, them taking up a spot on my bar where i could have another building block sucks....

inconvenient and terrible concept

ya know what would be cool? if there was some kinda /effect command that let my apply a potion for any duration  ;)

luckily vanilla creative minecraft comes equipped with just such a command!

unfortunately we currently don't have access to it......

i'm suggesting we should....

recruit/builder perk maybe?

arg1: "it's creative we don't need potions"
resp1: nightvision..... turns out building in the dark sucks, and spamming a night vision pot that lasts for an unreliable amount of time and takes up a spot in my inventory sucks....

arg2: "just donate for /ptime"
resp2: turns out the sun doesn't work underground.....

arg3: "just use a potion"
resp3: time consuming, annoying, takes up a spot i could have a building block, disrupt my creative flow, and there's a perfectly good vanilla creative mc command that allows me to apply an effect for any length of time avoiding this hindrance entirely, just need access to it

arg4: "we could make /effect a donation"
resp4: while i have nothing against supporting the server, it's a vanilla command and charging for vanilla things is iffy at the moment

arg5: "just download a hacked/modded client with perma brightness"
resp5: yea... doable but there's a convenient command built into mc already that saves me researching and downloading some sketchy 3rd party tool.....

arg6: "people will apply too long of an effect and be stuck with it requiring constant intervention"
resp6: drinking milk removes potion effects, also setting the /effect time to 0 or /effect clear will remove it.

arg7: "i know adjust your monitor settings so the brightness and gamma are really high!"
resp7: lol... no

Ingame currency to unlock gameplay stuff is fine. Real money to unlock gameplay stuff is not fine, nor money to buy the ingame currency.
so haven't read the new eula or anything but it seems from this that the concern is more so they don't want people going "you need to spend $5 to unlock dirt" where as with us anyone can use dirt (or any other example block) but if you spend money you can get large quantities of it without effort. we don't exactly restrict access to certain blocks unless you pay, which is what it seems like they wanna prevent.

Also and probably the more prevalent point is that we don't actually charge you for anything. It's a donation, not a price tag. you can get in-game currency right now for free and use it to acquire any block you please and the in-game currency isn't actually required in any way to play on the server. however should you choose to donate to the server (not required) you can choose to receive a "thank you reward" of in-game cash or various other options.

donate or not the server offers the same vanilla minecraft experience to anyone who chooses to play on it, all donating does is speed up the grind

1) it's actually extremely easy to do this with world guard you just need to define the regions, which really isn't much work at all just some flying or teleporting around and repeating the same command to define its boundaries. you create one main region and in your case 3 inner regions then set the 3 inner regions parent to the main region and it eliminates the hassle of having to set everything up for each region as the child regions adopt the rules of the parent, then you'd just switch the welcome messages for the 3 inner regions. I'm sure our lovely admins already know about it but here's the command for reference setting a parent region

2) again extremely easy to do, but ima have to agree with claw, it's very unlikely. mostly because i doubt the admins want warp signs scattered all over the world at various builds but hey it's up to them whether or not they're willing to do it.

3)here's a list of all the flags im sure you can use common sense to filter out which ones they probably wont allow, but it doesn't hurt to ask about a specific one

4) can't say definitively cuz it's not my call, but it's been my experience that there's a large trust issue with allowing people to build in protected regions such as these, not to mention the argument of whether or not you'll be using your own materials or be given stuff since it's technically a server build not a player build... it just gets iffy. pretty much if the admins think they can trust you they "may" let you do it, wait for them to respond.

pretty much all of these things are possible to do in a relatively easy manner, the real underlying question is if one of the admins is willing to do it for you given they're the only ones capable of doing so.

your best bet is to just ask nick. i'd say ask tobs but he'll prolly just ask nick anyway cuz well seniority....

I believe once the MC Map plugin developers release the next update depending on if the developers fix the problem it should transfer over with our plugin updates as well and function properly.  There's no telling how long it will take, but I wouldn't imagine more than 1 month or so.
