So today after mining a little and discussing a deal with guest i went to my house, someone talks to me, I start typing and suddenly- BOOOOOM! a creeper decides to go terrorist on me RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LOBBY (not the first time this happens). so I just wanted to say, what the hell man? creepers spawning in my lobby? how is that even possible? don't dare to tell me my house is not lit enough, I counted 68 torches in the top floor and 42 in the first floor NOT TO MENTION GLOWSTONE. So seriously, why is this happening? can someone explain?
The point of this post is, make it stop! that shouldn't even be happening. I don't see anyone else dying in the middle of their houses at the hands of mobs that shouldn't be there in the first place. Whats the point of having a shelter if mobs will just pop up in it like its their own house...
To make things better, not only did i lose 1 set of diamond tools like that today (some enchanted) I lost 38 diamonds too...

I know the title might seem overused and like nothing special... you all might be thinking of "oh its just some silly noob complaining and whining about his house getting griefed" but I am not a noob and though I am complaining I've been giving some thought to this and I have a few suggestions to make about this that may solve it all.
So I log in today after arriving from a sleep-over at a friends house. I'm thinking: I'm gonna go work a little at my house today. And what is my surprise? My house is griefed. Half of the red carpet is gone, "alternative entrances" on three different places and most of my wheat crop is gone plus a few missing torches. But I don't really mind this, even if its like the 20th time... cause I know that any moderator/operator can fix this in 30 seconds.
You wanna know what really pissed me off? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CHICKENS AND THE ONE DOG I HAD ARE GONE! why am I so bothered by this you ask? 'cause, although the griefer will surely be banned and the blocks he deleted or messed with will be back to how they were, all the chickens will not be back after the undo. In the end the damage remains, and basically, I still got f*cked. If it had been just 5 or 10 chickens I wouldn't mind it really. But this is at least the fourth time my chickens get stolen and each and every time, the amount of chickens missing is over 20 (this time over 30). Meaning that by now, I have lost at least 80-90 chickens to these people. Not contempt with that, he goes off and kills the last of my dogs.
Just to clear this, I already had one small protection stone for my chicken coop, but since its 12x6, one of the walls is just outside the protection.
By this moment I'm already raging, wishing to find the person responsible so I can beat him myself... but I know i can't do that, that's just some candy for my thoughts. I know the ONLY thing I can do is buy some protection stones to prevent this from happening again, but given my current balance I can only afford the small ones. Even if I have a relatively high balance compared to most of the users, I can only get 3 small protection stones AT MOST. And well... I dont really think that's enough for a house that occupies a space of 60x25x40 approximately. Anyway, I buy one small protection cause I know I will need that money for more materials for my house. I go to my farm, place the protection i just bought in my coop, and then, as I try to move the other protection I had there so it works properly with the one i had just bought, it suddenly becomes coal. Turns out 2000$ just turned to coal, that is quite a sum for someone with so little money in the server.
And that was the icing of the cake. As soon as that happened I swore like a pirate and ragequit from the server. And here I am now writing this.
So the whole point of this little thread was just to say. Protection stones are TOO EXPENSIVE. All of this, and probably all of the griefing problems of the server could be prevented if only the protection stones were cheaper. It seems logical to me to multiply the price of the stones by 8 as the protection area increases, I understand the math behind that. But if you already have a high base price, you're gonna end up with stratospheric prices for the biggest protections that even the players with the highest balances can barely afford.
However, lowering the prices of the protection is not the only option. I found out since I first joined SMP that the market has some flaws that only make that problem bigger. Namely, the Buy/Sell prices ratio being a tad low, where in some cases it is below .5 . If the Sell and Buy ratio of the items is tweaked, its possible for the other users to make more money off their work, making the protection stones more accessible, if only slightly. My suggestion is making the "sell" price at least 75% of the "buy" price.
If none of these options seems viable, the last solution I can come up with is undoing absolutely EVERYTHING the banned person did, that includes crafted resources and animals. Being returned to the place where they were originally obtained from. Though this might not be possible.
That's my 2 cents on the issue and I want you to understand that I mean absolutely NO disrespect with this and I am merely trying to make things better for the vast majority of the users. I hope you understand.
If you find any flaws on my options then please point them out AND suggest other options to solve this. I really don't intend for you to do what I tell you, I just want a solution for this common problem.

A few days ago I started discussing about a possible project with MrMonkey91, possibly the biggest thing that would happen to this server if it were done. I'm talking about a 1:1 scale Burj Khalifa with all the surrounding area. A little bit of info for those who don't know what the Burj Khalifa is: The Burj Khalifa, formerly known as the Burj Dubai, is as of now, the TALLEST man-made structure on earth with an approximate height of 830 m. This building is located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai. The tower is part of the new 2 km 2 complex called Downtown Dubai at the 'First Interchange' along Sheikh Zayed Road, near Dubai's main business district. (extract from wikipedia)    First things first. From what I've said, you can all probably imagine the gargantuan size this thing is gonna have and just a standard world of 512x512x192 would NOT suffice to fit in such project, given the height of 830m and the fact that we would build at a 1:1 scale, we would actually require a world 416 blocks wide, 400 Blocks long and 832 blocks tall to fit in the whole complex. So I extend a little petition here through the forums to our admin and the owner of the server, Relkeb and Opticalza: I really wish to see this project go through and finished sometime in the near future but to do so I need your help and permission so I plead to you to let this happen (if possible) because I really think that this could make this server even more popular and amazing than it already is. Next is the builders for this inmense project. I wish I had enough time and talent to do this by myself but I don't, and besides building all alone is not even fun. So my next plead is to all the crafters of Opticraft: Since this is such a massive build I'm sure you all will want to have a say on this, so I ask you to please help me to make this project a reality. I know I have MrMonkey's support but I'd like to know what the other crafters, Terrewe, ZXFear, Luminaeus, Toxic, etc. (sorry i dont know the remaining crafters  ) think. However I suggest this is not only limited to us crafters, since I know Opticraft has many great gifted builders that are yet to reach this rank or that have gone through the path of moderation to keep us safe from the griefers that lurk around every day. So I say we make a white list of all the builders that shall participate on this. Anyone approved by us the crafters or admins can build and help for this project, but remember, you'll have to limit yourself to the guidelines that the other crafters will set. With this I finish my little petition for I know that you all have a busy day and cant spend it all here reading my wall of text. I thank you for your time and please post your thoughts regarding this project. Relkeb and Opticalza if you're reading this I humbly await your response. PS: MrMonkey if you would be so kind to post some pictures of the SketchUp model and the voxelized model you have it would be great  Update: List of the possible builders that will help with the project (pending review from the crafters): -Destroyer -Clawstrider -Hammondsben -Gameguy96 I've decide only to include those who mention themselves because this has to be voluntary, we won't force anyone to go with this project if they don't want to, so I ask all people who are interested to help to speak up in this thread.

Just for bragging rights. Sorry if I seem conceited  This is a T-90 main battle tank. Standard issue for the Russian army, made to replace the old T-72. This one took me quite some time, a little due to the size of it and a lot due to my own lazyness. It ended up taking 1 whole week to finish and it measures 270 blocks long 111 blocks wide and a bit over 70 blocks tall. The block count for this one build rises as high as 120k blocks (rounded), probably the biggest hand-made build that I've done up to now. Without further ado, here are the pictures: A 3/4 view of the whole build to appreciate the dimention.  A close up of the front of the turret and the "red eyes" of the tank   A close up of the top of the turret to see all the gadgets and gizmos on top of it as well as the mounted Heavy MG  Back of the tank where you can see the "grills" that lead to the engine  Here you see the detail of the treadmills and the wheels of the tank  And finally an up-front view of the tank in question. I would have liked to make an up-front picture where the cannon was pointing at the viewer and add a "feeling lucky?" caption to it but the situation of the build didn't let me.  Hope you guys and military geeks like me enjoy. I also swear that my next build wont be "military-related" so you don't get bored of me. PS: Ill have to start building like this normally to live up to the reputation of Opticraft's crafters

This one took me quite some time to finish since it was so big. In the end it was a little over 270 blocks long and 111 blocks wide, total block count of this build went as high as 120 THOUSAND blocks. Hope you like it. -Beautiful Katamari, located in Builder13. I know this one isn't all that great but I was seeing some videos from this game and it kinda inspired me to do this little construction, and I thought "why not include it?". So here it is. As of now this is the third server at which I start working seriously, I am a moderator at Team9000 and I also frequent WoM realms where I have some other builds. I hope to get along with all of you if possible and working with you. Thanks to relkeb and asmdz for hearing me out when I needed help, I really appreciate it.
