Seems like a no brainer - mature, responsible - and friendly.  Plus he's heavily invested in the community of the server!  What more could you want?

Projects and Creations / Maze

I got bored and decided to build a maze.   I think it is pretty challenging.  It's 6 levels deep with a few twists.   If you're bored and want to kill some time, stop by /home Wolfer210 and then follow the path to the Entertainment Area.

At the risk of getting flamed...  Let me know what you think if you try it out.

Since I gave you $10,000 worth of pistons does that count?   ;)

(kidding - good luck finishing it off!  Let me know how I can help.)

General Discussion / Capthcas on voting page
« on: April 21, 2012, 05:11:49 pm »
I read several threads about the voting page but didn't see this topic.

On the Opticraft voting page, I enter my name and for two of the sites I enter a Capthca.   However, everytime I am transferred to the voting site and I have to enter a Captcha again.   I assume it was supposed to be sent over automatically (otherwise what's the point of entering it on Opticraft).

I'm using IE 8.   Is there a way to avoid this?   (I'll try it on Firefox as soon as I can vote again but wanted to see if this is a known issue).

(Argh - I thought I was on the Support thread when I posted - sorry)

Craft 9 slices into a watermelon block.   Sell 32 or 64 melon blocks at the market (or elsewhere)

And pistons   :P

Funny.  I'm in discussion on a separate thread about this topic.  A fully automated version is frowned upon because of impact to server.   However, setup a button, redstone circuit to the pistons, and then have a water flow carry the melon down.

There are tons of (better) designs on line.  A simple one would look something like this:
(R is redstone and/or repeater as necessary, C cobble/filler, P piston, W Water  D dirt, M melon stalk - pistons/cobble are one level higher than the "M/melon stalk" so that when the piston fires it pushes the melon into the water)
R  R  R  R   R  R   R
R  P  D  W  D  P  R
R  C  M  W M  C  R
R  P  D  W  D  P  R

I think I can figure out how to push a button.  ;)  I just know that others were doing it so I wanted to understand what the rules were so I don't cause problems.   That's why I was asking to begin with.

Is there a problem if we use a redstone clock to autofarm melons?   I know a bunch of people are doing this but someone told me tonight that I shouldn't.  What's the official word on this?

Check out this post - its got some good info in it - especially the graphic from exox on the difference between coal and lapis coverage.  http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,7472.0.html

It definitely helped me when I was trying to figure it out.

General Discussion / Re: Pistons stuck "open"
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:37:00 am »
Thanks Smite.  I checked for bleed over from something else and can't find anything.  It's really odd because pistons equally far away from these are working.

Nyssa - is there anything I can do about that or is it just a permanent "deadzone" in my autofarm?  I've removed and replaced them several times but that doesn't seem to help.

I'll assume it's just a deadzone unless someone has an idea.

Thanks for any suggestions!

General Discussion / Pistons stuck "open"
« on: April 09, 2012, 01:27:03 am »
Anyone have a suggestion for trouble shooting a set of pistons that gets set in the "open" position?   I have 6 rows in the auto-farm that work and this one that stays as if they are always powered on.  All the others work normally.

This one row stays activated even when I completely disable the entire redstone circuit.

This row is on the same power feed as a second set of pistons on the other side.  Those work fine.

Any ideas?
