There are four types of minecraft players:

1# Children who have no idea what they're doing and click randomly. Usually caught by anti-grief.

2# Malevolent griefers who will sooner or later be banned by Ops.

3# People who like to build things but either lack the artistic vision or the ambition to break away from simple builds.

4# People who are artistic in nature and love pushing the limits of their creative abilities.

The recruit rank is populated by a mix of people from the last two categories. The significance of builder is (or should be) the recognition of people who are definitely the last type, artists driven to improve themselves.

Are you also gonna list sprites? (I was wondering because you don't build sprites, you create/coppy them)

Could, but all the good sprites are already in worlds specifically for sprites... plus some of them are absolutely massive and wouldn't even fit. But the ones that are in member/recruit/builder sure :)

Current rank: Crafter

Reason for application:

My focus has been shifting from building to helping new players. I'm always willing to give building advice, demonstrate more advanced ways of doing things, and this is especially cool when working with talented new players who are able to take that little bit of help and run with it to make something truly epic. I already do my best to keep trolls and griefers locked down, even though I can't ban or undo the damage, at least I can stop it from being worse. As an operator, I would have the tools to properly do the job.

Why you should become an operator:

I tend to play late at night when no other operators are online. I see a lot of talented new members get frustrated and move on to other servers because there aren't any operators around to fix grief or promote them. In an ideal world, there would always be an operator on. In such a world, I would be perfectly happy to remain a crafter and build away on my own worlds. Sadly, that isn't the case. I should become an operator because it's a job that needs doing and I'm capable of doing it.

Have you been temp-op before?: Nope

Extra information: I'm a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Following the standards and holding others to them is our way of life.

And you will have time to op, build (crafter) and review builds?

Things tend to be a bit quieter later at night, not hard to multitask.

Not so sure you will get it... (Op apps are closed) but you have my best wishes and luck. Good luck Lumi :)

Yup, I know. But felt like I should apply anyways.

I wish toxic and monkey was here :( :l
And terre :l

Me too. Then I could become an Operator and not feel like I'm leaving Crafter to be an abandoned rank again.

dont we have the sprite/building/object showcase world for that?

Yes and no.

We have some showcases with a few things in there, but there has never been a substantial effort to review every single build on the server. My project will truly show what has been done on the server.

New ghost is done.. and so am I. If I build any more things here this is going to turn into my own personal zone...

Oh, possibly I miss-understood. Are you going for the best build in each world, or what you think is good (Some in some worlds, none in others etc.)?

The best by rank. I'll look at all builds from all Member worlds and pull the best. Doesn't matter which particular Member world they're from. The idea is to get all the great builds in one spot. No particular quota either, just going to fill the worlds up until they're full.

IDEA: Have a world called BestBuilds or something.
Then have many boxes with titles (Builder5 for example) and put the best build of builder 5 in it. Only problem is if you pick massive builds :/

That kinda goes against the intent of this. I want the builds to be noticed entirely on their own quality, not the world they happen to be from.

Seems like a bit of work for you.

I imagine it would be around 50-100 builds total. Probably 20-30 hours of work total. Not really all that bad spread over 2 months.
