There could be somewhere in the spawn area of the world where the blocks reside and you just go up to it and middle click. and BAM. You have the block. then keep it in your inventory so you can just transfer it to your hotbar when you need. PLUS, the original doesn't get destroyed as it's in spawn.if you do pick block on that full stone slab block it will give you a normal stone half step :/
