Reason for application: Because of the recent popularity and success of the SMP server, I would like to help out on classic as I feel we need more operators who are flexible with different times.
Why you should become an operator: Opticraft has always been my first and only server. I started out on classic, gradually getting to know everyone until I achieved recruit. As a recruit, I have always done my best to help ease the load of busy operators by answering commonly asked questions for them. I used to give out water and lava to some guests that I had befriended at the time, allowing them to achieve the vision they wanted in their builds. Despite being a recruit, I tried to assert a similar operator presence onto the guests, even though I really had no power. I don’t know if I ever had the intention to try to achieve builder, since building itself never really interested me. To be frank, I’m a chatter. I talk to people, get to know them, and help them adjust to an unfamiliar place. It’s always been a hope of mine, to one day achieve that coveted Operator rank, but my lack of building skills has prevented me from being able to apply. When I got the “go-ahead” from Nick, it thrilled me. Finally, I had a chance to prove my dedication for a server that I have been a part of for over 6 months. I consider myself mature, calm, patient, responsible and friendly, especially when a guest comes in for the first time on Opticraft. As it has always been, I hope to one day prove myself as a dedicated Operator, if I am accepted.

Extra information: I am usually available to log on at any given time, however night shifts are probably when I can be on most. I can probably maintain at least 20+ hours a week operating but it really depends on my schedule.

DJ is helpful, polite, patient (a quality that ops must have to deal with guests) and overall a nice guy. He is always on irc and can come in-game whenever. I wish you luck DJ and i completely support your app. I hope to see you go from super-recruit to super-op. :D

Definitely supported. Always on IRC whenever I log on, and has the right traits to be able to handle the extreme stress of the operator position. Although I don't see you in-game much (must be some sort of timing coincidence), I wish you the beat of luck! May the odds ever be in your favor.

I have Full support for this application; I know this guy would do a brilliant job as an operator.
He has been on Classic for bygones and knows all the ins and outs of the job. Im pretty sure he knows all the commands aswell. So accepting this wont be a let down on anyones side.

People say they support, because they are friends.
Not because he is good etc.
He would probably twist the rules.

I disagree. DJ was just having fun then. And no, we don't support him just because we're his friend. Whenever he's online, he's always helping guests to the best of his ability. Teasing his friends shouldn't prevent him from becoming an op. And I can't see how you could say he would twist the rules, he always follows them and makes sure everyone else is also. Sorry about them DJ. Go get 'em!

The irc thing wasn't a big deal, while DJ is a bit of a goofball sometimes he is still suited for the job.

When things get out of hand and someone asks him to stop, he does and apologizes for going overboard.
Minus the trolling that "everyone" on classic does to pass the time while building. We all acted like this at one time or another.
Besides that, when it is busy and DJ and I are online. He'll help me out by answering questions when I can't get around to them.
I don't support players who don't deserve it.
DJ in my opinion deserves at least the chance (eventually) to become an Op.

I disagree with you Wyboth. One reason is because whenever DjAlphaWolf is online, I usually see him in [IRC] and not USUALLY on the Classic server. I totally get that he is a nice guy and doesn't really troll, but he's just not active enough in the Classic server.

DJ is hardly ever on smp... i believe he told me that his last loggin was about 2 weeks ago and for only about 5 min so, so i guess you are just assuming things about that part. He is only on irc because there is really no reason for him to come in game. He doesnt like to build and its hard to go around helping people when you can't teleport. So he answers questions from irc when the ops are busy helping people... he helps in the best way that he can, despite the fact that he is helping through irc, but i still appreciate his help nevertheless and i know other people do too.
I support DJ not simply because hes my friend, but because he has been here for a long time, and he knows how everything is run already. He has always been incredibly helpful and kind, and he doesnt get angry over things too easily. He may be a bit of a goofball here and there but he is just having fun (after all this entire thing is a game), but he knows when its alright to mess around and when he needs to be mature, which he is completely capable of being, and I truely believe that DJ would make the best op out of all the people in the server right now. We need people like him here, and we need people like him to be the ones in charge.

I know. I wasn't trying to bug them into doing it, rather, I was expressing my exasperation at there being no desicion made at all. I was also saying that I would rather have him be put on trial than be turned down. I thought that seemed pretty obvious, but I guess some people take me literally.

You could say supported or good luck, however demanding an admin make a desicion is a little harsh.

I didn't even know that he asked you to ignore it and I talk to DJ constantly. I dont really find it necessary to rebuke him for posting something when he didn't know to know what was going on. Plus, on the date of that post DJ was still around for awhile practically everyday for hours a day on irc. In a situation like this, I find it hard to blame someone simply for an ignorance that is out of their control.

That is the whole point. If you dont know everything about a certain situation, you should refrain from commenting about it.

alright I had said i was done, but he may have thought that he did know everything about it. If people are supposed to refrain from posting because of the chance that they don't know everything about a situation this could be a very silent forum.

Yes. I am inactive in game. It is not my fault really, as I am busy with school starting and all....and i am also currently facing issues with logging on (personal issues).
I had way more time in the summer than I thought I would, although I never told Nick that I would be ready to be judged then (I was visiting family alot and sometimes I didn't expect to have the time to go on). Right now, because of the above reasons, I am not as able to log on as I could have in the summer. I am on irc almost all day, every day but I cannot log on in game. I don't expect you to accept me, Nick or Relkeb, because I can't guarantee being on at all during the months (maybe a week in total over the course of 2-3 months ).
So, if i cannot be accepted due to this problem, then I request for my app to once again be postponed until I can assure that I can get on a lot more. If Nick is still willing to take a chance on me despite my inactivity, I will do my absolute best to log on as much as I possibly can.
Like I said before, I'm heavily active on irc (on almost all day). I also am pretty active on the forums, mostly observing ban appeals, staff applications and reporting the occasional spam threads to the staff.

Good news guys. I am now able to be on at least once or twice a week (or almost every day on late nights if I'm feeling like it). So now I have the time to be op and help players out if I were accepted. Therefore, because of these new developments, I am taking my app off hold once more and allowing it to be judged.
