Title: New command (member+)
Post by: Lightwave on January 19, 2012, 11:56:43 am
Maybe we could have a few of these commands on the SMP server.
i got the ideas from another server, that allows members+ to use the commands.
/Summon   asks another player if they want to teleport to you
/saccept   Accepts the request and tp's you to them
/sreject     rejects a summon request
/tprequest   requests to tp to another player
/taccept    accepts a tp request
/treject    rejects a tp request

In Classic server, these are Crafter's+ commands.
I believe that these are too many commands and the accept and reject is stupid. If they speak on chat its ok. no need for that.
The trusted rank on the other hand, is a rank that get the trusted by the OPs. So, if you consider it a close and "enough" rank to Ops/Mods then is can be given the permission to use it. I would like to have it, because it can also be used for building purpose, as we can go directly to the person and not, to walk days and night.

These commands already exist on the server, you just can't use them.

That will be for optical and relkeb to decide. But I wouldn't get your hopes up.

There Is no reason for even trusted to use this, you can just use /home <player> command (When it is fixed). The only people who need tp commands are moderators/operators, to fix greif.

In extreme cases people could use a tp command to greif, so i dont think this is gonna happen

Moderators and Operators are given the tp command for a reason. It would be kind of stupid if users with a lower rank had the ability to deny a mod or ops tp.
So this won't happen.

That is not how it works. There are multiple tp permissions to go along with the commands so this wouldn't be a problem at all. Not saying we should give them the commands though.

I honestly hate servers that lets people teleport to people. I will be devastated if this happens.

Home tele is enough, like on 1.8.

Except it's not working on 1.1.

But if opti gave members the '/tpaccept' and '/tpdeny' then can't members then just controll mods and ops ability to spawn to them? Or would /tp still work, and /tpa is just an extra command to ask them if you can tp to them?

Yes, /tp doesn't require the person you are tping to to accept.

Personally I would love to have tp cmds.  Except only trusted+ would get this because they already proven themselves to mods/ops that they won't grief. (similar to builders on classic and smp is easier to get lost in imo))

Also trusted should only have /tpa <username>, /tpaaccept, and /tpadeny because obviously it'd get abusive if they could just tp without the other player having the ability to say no.  Also trusted+ wouldn't be able to deny OPs/Mods tp requests (then again couldnt OPs/Mods just use /tp without the 'a'?)

I say that /tpa should be used at your own risk because if you decide to use it and you get griefed its your own fault.  If the person you teleported was someone you wanted to have there anyways, what would stop you from taking however many minutes/hrs from finding them and bring them there anyways? /tpa's just convient and quicker especially when you have joint projects with other members that requires resources from various locations or when you want to trade somewhere private (how many times have someone walked in the middle of someone trading in the market and stole goods?).

The /back cmd is OK but for some reason doesn't feel good enough to be a /tpa subsitiute because you'd have to already have visited that location and then warped somewhere else and ONLY warp once otherwise you'd overwrite the location.

I know Relkeb and Opticalza have already discussed this and feel it just wouldn't work on this server but I gotta try right :P....

Side Note: Also for some reason when I've died and typed /back after spawning I NEVER return to the site of where I've died but rather to the place I warped from BEFORE I died which is pointless, or a bug?)

The need for this command has fallen due to the ability to use /home (name):home to go to other homes.

O rly? Did NOT know about that! Is it working ingame or is it bugged? I figured this topic was started because no such thing exists or works.

Also is it /home (username):home   < with the ":home" at the end?
Or is it /home (username)?             < without the ":home"
