I've noticed recently that the user/operator ratio has changed dramatically.
I used to play on this server last year, but due to a certain mishap, I left. I recently returned to the server, but now, anyone and everyone is an operator(yes, I exaggerated a little bit there), which is completely different than in the past.
What happened? lol

Sometimes there are none, It depends on timezones. And at one point a lot of builders were temped. Its not a bad thing though :P
-
It just means that a lot of people are qualified to be operators.
I wouldn't judge any of the admin's decisions, so neither should you.
-
The more operators the better. 'Nuf said.

I am afraid the builder rank isn't desirable anymore. People just see it as a stepping stone to OP. They see how hard it is to get crafter and say, screw that i'll be an OP.
-
Can I add something,
I don't know how many people will want to do the same thing as I want but I would prefer to become an crafter than an OP.
I think that I would be more happy being an crafter than an OP for a few reasons;
1. You are less "needed" by guest as they don't see you as helpful as OP's
2. The ratio of Crafters to Operators is weighted towards the operators, which in my opinion makes Crafter more of an achievement to get.
But there is always the appeal of have a responsibly on the server.

Not to mention that the Operator rank turns fun into work.

I don't know i like being an operator... Sure sometimes you need a break but other then that its fun.
You make lots of friends and see lots of creations, Crafter is more of a status to me( I make Good stuff) when being a Op is more of expressing your inner (Workaholic) into something fun and enjoyable. :P

I totally agree with this. Being an op isn't just about having authority, it's more about wanting to help out the community.

Sometimes, showing both a sense of authority and helping out the community makes the playing experience more worthwhile, because you are enjoying the server and the players while keeping the server rules in mind and in check at all times. It's kinda like being a Firefighter, although instead of fighting fires you're fighting griefers.
