Post by: Juls|Azzathel on June 08, 2011, 08:46:52 am
I was going out for a walk when this flaming skeleton shot me

and it was riding a minecart!

I dunno how this happened....

Turn off to peaceful then? but maybe while in the night a skeleton spawned there nearby and in the morning was walking aimlessly and accidentally gotten to a minecart

Win. That should be a new addition. The skeleton and zombie crew perform live from Juls minecart rollercoaster  :D Nice to see someone with water 'blocks' in their inv ;D

Why you callin' him a cheat? Do you not use an inventory editor? :P

lol... that is somewhat hilarious though.

On a similar note, I am building a huge minecart highway on beta. It is still under developement and will take a while... ESPECIALLY with the redstone wiring and stuff... :P

Um... no? I play the good way, although I do wish sometimes I had the patience to install an Inventory Editor ;)
Also, is that a beta singleplayer or mulitplayer? If its multiplayer, can i see? If its single player, could you take some screenies? Im hopeless at redstone :P I can do pressure pads with doors, and i forgot how to make buttons but thats about it ;) I think i could make a redstone torch as well...

 :P I can send you an inventory editor if you like, its in a .rar/.zip file and you dont need to install it. Its the same one Jul has here.

Why do u need redstone wiring for a minecart system? Use pressure rails.
S    S
S P S
S R S

S= stick
P= Stone pressure pad
R= Redstone

Do that in a crafting table and voila! It acts as a pressure pad but its also a rail.

Hmm... that could be useful for the project, as I might not have enough redstone wiring to complete it

1) Detector rails only supply power when something is over it, so it would only provide power for only a split second-- not enough for long distance powering...
2) The rail system I am building is a long distance rail line, so it will need A LOT of redstone wiring... not just the bare few connections...

Well they are good for power rails but i see what you mean. In fact having redstone wiring coming from 2 seperate detector rails (pressure rails lol i fail) might give you enough time for activating a switch or something.  :P Im confusing my self.

@claw its single player

and I already got the world corrupted....

I could help you with all your redstone needs (i'll try)

@xeadin whats the wiring for?

if u want a booster u can just make a powered rail

and then just place a redtone torch at the side of it

or below it

that would give it infite power....

or u could put a switch next to if u want it toggleable

I dont know whats ur problem btw....

It's a two- way rail system, so it will need more than just a booster section to power it along the way, and it's completely flat.

"It goes through mountains, man ;D "

plus, I need firsthand experience with making workable Gates.

I could show u how to make a 2-way rail system

we could meet in a server

I don't know any beta servers right now

and it should be so that even ppl with pirated MC can access it

and uhmm

what are gates?

Gates are circuitry that function as signal transfer stations. Basically, each redstone torch placed inverts the redstone signal, so you have:

Quote
-------oxxxxxxxxxxo---------

Where o is the torch, - representing the on signal, and x representing the off signal.

It's a way to send redstone signals further distances without having to go all the way down to one end to flip a switch.

It's a useful way to power multiple sections of powered rails at once (in my case), or other devices without needing to flip many switches that may be in hard-to-reach places.

Also, some gates are able to act as timers by following specific guidelines to place the wiring and torches in a way that they function as clocks.

Some examples of redstone Logic Gates: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/images/c/cf/StandardLogicGates.png

Also, if you've seen some of those large dispenser walls (like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewFrgDPCgGA), they are powered by redstone logic gates as well.

if ur trying to make it so the redstone can travel more than 15 blocks

use a repeater....

and u dont need does gates for continues powers on powered rails

just put a redstone torch beside it...

I once saw my door open and somebody walk out into the fog and I got so scared. It was a cow that had fallen into a under-construction tunnel I was building and opened my door to get out (It has pressure pad inside) :P

NOW I know gates

and yes its easy once u understand it

u never said 'wow jul it looks hard' once

and if u did

it just LOOKS hard cuz there are a lot of twists

and turns
