Title: Ocaniti here
Post by: Ocaniti on April 30, 2011, 04:53:51 pm
Greetings all, Just thought I would post a little about myself here. First off I have no idea what I am getting into when it comes to Multiplayer version of MC. I played the single player version but that is it. So any tips will be helpful.
I am currently active with Wurmemu and semi active with Wurm Online but not with this name. Names I currently use are Vargus,Cryptic,Crypticmass,Cryptictundra. Ocaniti and Ocaniti_Timani were my first Wurm Online names so I decided to use Ocaniti here as my first MC name as well. I have been watching Minecraft ever sense Notch left Wurm Online :(. I decided to give up playing Wurm Online for a while and stick with Wurmemu and Minecraft. Wurmemu is still in the works but has an up and running server. Great community of people there and I hope that this free server has a great community as well. I will be purchasing MC here in the next few days but will continue to play here. I mean who could pass up a server named Opticraft :P

Thanks.....from what I was reading about the server and being new here... How exactly does a person get the option to build something that can not be destroyed except by op/admin? I understand you have to build in order to get ranked but is there a link for a totally new player to read up on how this is achieved exactly? I have logged into the server (last night) just to see what it was like and used /j guest but did not even try to build anything due to the fact that there were way to many projects there already lol.

From what i know, there is no way to do that. However the higher the rank you are, the less people can touch your stuff and the more space you have. Guest worlds are hectic but you will have to do with them until you get ranked.  ;D

there actually is a way, using zones around the work.

Welcome, i've noticed you being helpful on IRC & ingame.

True but thats irrelevant since you have to be a high rank to use zones.

Thanks for the info guys... I guess I'll have to transfer my project from binvox to graph paper so i can build it as quick as possible. I don't suppose there is any way to save your work when you go to log off... like a mod or someone to save it so if someone does grief it, it can be restored?

Woops "grieve it" not "grief it"  was tired when i posted this lol

Maybe, if its good, you can ask them to move it.

Actually not really, its not that hard to ask someone to zone your work.
