Title: Not sure if this goes here, but let's give it a shot...
Post by: Zeradeth_ on August 25, 2013, 08:05:13 pm
Alrighty, so a few times every day, this thing pops up on my desktop:
(click to show/hide)
and I'm not sure what it is. It popped up out of nowhere, I've never heard of it before, I've googled it and some of the results said "How to remove the winzip virus manually" or such like that. I'm worried that this might hurt my computer, but I don't know enough about it to be able to tell if it could also help my computer.

I come to you guys for this because you're the only ones I trust to be able to tell me if I should remove it from my computer (I didn't download it, mind you!) or leave it. Also, I'm not sure if this should go in the Support topic, but feel free to move it, my fellow staff members!

Thank you,
Zera

Usually things like this are downloaded by mistake when downloading other program's, lets say you download Java, it will ask you if you would like to have this program to go with it (Any random ones) and you click ok by mistake or in a rush, and that is sometimes how it gets there.

Usually it won't do anything to your computer,  if you would like to remove it (I think you do), go on the Start button then on Control Pannel and Remove Program's or something like that and find the program, right click it and click remove.  All of those things saying "60000 Virus's or Errors" are bull.

Hope this helped.

If your are 100% sure you didnt download that, then that is malware you have there. A type of virus really. Basically it tells you that you have a bunch of registry errors and then wants you to pay to fix them so it gets your credit card info and all that good stuff.

Download this http://www.malwarebytes.org/ (the free version will work fine) and run it. See if that fixes it.

Nick took the words directly out of my mouth.  It is either Malware or Accidentally downloaded with other program's.

It appears to br something from a book he's writing or reading.

My real question is - why do all of the staff have eachothers skypes? Why not mumble?

What if Elizabeth kills Marcus?

That should be the priority here.
