Title: 1.3 Launching August 1st!

According to Jeb's Twitter posts, it looks like he's going to be launching 1.3 on August 1st.  Just a reminder to all, don't update your Minecraft until the Opticraft server gets updated, or you could run into issues (including not being able to play!)

I will still update my Minecraft, 1.3 is just too awusome. It can never beat Opticraft tough!

How soon do you expect Opticraft to be updated? I know Mojang released the 1.3 pre-release today so that modders will be able to update server mods to the new version.

Just back up your minecraft.jar and you're free to update all you want without losing your 1.2.5 .jar.

How do you back up your minecraft .jar? Is it the force update thing?

That's the opposite of what you do when 1.3 comes out.
-Open up run. (windows+R)
-Type %appdata% and hit enter.
-The .minecraft folder will be in the first set of folders.
-Open the .minecraft folder and inside, find the bin folder (the top one) and open it.
-You will see a file called minecraft, right click it, copy it, and paste it on your desktop or wherever you prefer.
-If you update the .minecraft to 1.3 and you want to get 1.2.5 back, follow the first 4 steps and instead of copying the miencraft file, delete it, or back it up and copy and paste the 1.2.5 minecraft file back into the bin folder.

If you use a mac, don't ask me how to do it.

I can't wait, 1.3 sounds really COOL! ;D
I am not updating until Opticraft updates though :P Even Opticraft is better than 1.3

Ok, let me rephrase...  If you DO upgrade to 1.3 you probably won't be able to connect to Opticraft until the server is updated.

when all the plugins get updated, so things like bukkit we have no control over how long it will take for them to update

Since bukkit is working with mojang shouldnt this be. Quicker upgrade than last?

Yeah, one of my mandatory mods is Optifine. Hopefully that is one of the quickly updated mods. Even so, I'll update whenever Opticraft does.

I'm raging cuz I'm in Australia, which is +10.00.. Means I'll only be able to update when I get home from school. FUUUUU-

Like I said, if you plan on playing Opticraft don't update until Optical says its ok.

Mojang released 1.31 5 mins before I got to go to bed :(

I do want to check out pyramids =p

But I won't update just yet =/ can't opti do what he did for 1.25?

I just update. There are many people on Opticraft either and I have other friend server so I won't be bored. So (maybe) you won't see me until Optizalza updated the server.

First Bukkit has to update, then the Plugin Devs have to update, then Opti has to check it all over, fix it, and then test it.  Only then can the server be launched.

In other words, BE PATIENT

6. When starting the game decline the update.

You should now be running 1.2.5 on your client. :)
