Title: New PS
Post by: idive23 on July 14, 2012, 12:37:00 am
Hello I was just thinking that opticraft could have a new protection stone-- It could be redstone ore. I think that it could be 5x5x5. The reason I think that we should have this new PS is that sometimes when you are protecting you home/creations and there is a little sliver that is unprotected People can grief into it. Also if you have a small Creation that you don't want to buy a coal protection for you can get a Redstone Ore.
Thanks

I do believe that Redstone Ore is being reserved for the largest area (that area being 81x81x81)

The redstone ore is 8 times the protected volume compared to the diamond ps, therefore IF it were in the game I would expect the price to be about 6 to 8 times the price of the diamond ps, however redstone ore is currently not used in the server because it is too massive. It would most likely lead to the very rich people protecting the whole map to themselves :P

Actually it is, it allows you to set it up to the size the ps was originally, IE a diamond ps tells me i can set it up to 20
thats 20 on each side

I think a redstone ore with a small protection would be nice, reason being a lot of people in my town have 5x5 plots or 6x10 or something, and they get upset because they cant use a coal PS, as it would interfere with others property. Another suggestion would be that you could modify the limits of the PS, and the size of the PS would be the LIMIT of the PS, and it can be anything from 1x1x1 to the range of the PS. For example, a coal ore PS could be any range of protection from 1x1x1 to 11x11x11.

Redstone is not as easy or plentiful as coal so for no reason would the size be smaller than coal which is easy to find everywhere

You missed what i said, YOU CAN modify the limits of any ps using /ps setradius

This was a coal ore, so you can set the radius up to 5 (on each side) making it an 11x11 square, but you cant set it beyond its regular size, IE a diamond ps goes up to 20

And according to that screenshot, I guess that answers our questions of having smaller PStones, and I've already answered the question about the Redstone PStone.
