When I got on when the chat message system got changed to the Hero Chat system I was in local chat and had no idea how to talk to anyone since I had no information telling me how to chat globally.
To fix this, I suggest to change the local chat message when no one hears you from - "No one hears you." to - "No one hear s you. Type /ch g to chat globally."
I know this is a small change, but it can help a lot of guests who don't understand why they can't talk to anyone.

This could work out very well. At first I thought, why not just change the default channel to global? But then I realized there would be noob chat everywhere.

Definitely a reasonable idea!

Great idea!

Very good idea! i remember my first time with the new chat system, i was very confused with the "no one hears you" and why i wasnt global :P

Also does anyone know how far local chat reaches because sometimes you can hear (see) people talking but when you /near None!

This would be a great idea, and iGenerator, I think its around 200-250 blocks

For instance some people at spawn, when I go there, are in local saying, "Why is no one listening to me," or Just how do I get out of local. So I agree that'd be a nice small change. :)

No, I think it is a bit farther than that. But I'm not 100% sure, I think it is somewhere between 300-500. More than 200 because /near only works on people within 200 blocks, yet Igen was saying he heard people outside of 200 blocks.
