Basically today I got 2 dragon eggs and died with them, somebody (Who shall not be named) stole them, lied about it then when I was offline they chucked them away. Do you think this is fair at all? Please vote.

Maybe not, but there isnt really anything that can be done about it.

I already know you know its fair to take somebody's items when they die but lieing about it is so mean.
-
the rules do state, if you drop your items on death (by a mob) who ever picks your items up, gets to keep them

plus i know they didnt lie, they didnt realise they had it,

Sure, that person was a total poophead to do it, but as alicia said:

and honestly what do they get out of lying, you're going to think they're a poophead either way, so honestly lying wasnt the best option and now they get to live on knowing they are a liar, so take satisfaction in that :)

Since he threw them away that's just plain mean.

ikr they could have at least given them back

Well seeing as how this already happened, I really don't think there's any reason to form a posse and hunt this player down.

It's ok to take a players items, but you would expect a level of decency to return them, espicially such a valuable item, but they didn't technically do anything wrong
-
I was about to lock this topic lol.
It doesn't matter if they lied, point is you died, you lost your stuff, someone picked it up.
No rules were broken, there really shouldn't be a problem, it's as fair as the guidelines make it.

The rules did state that if you die, and someone finds your items, they get to keep those items. I do believe the lying was wrong, but if you died with 2 Dragon Eggs in your inventory, tough beans.

Yep, this is correct. It is an absolute douchebag move to take someone's items like that, and lie. However, the rules are that if the item is on the ground it can be picked up regardless of the context. Once again, it is a douche move, and it may make a lot of people distrust the player who picked up the items, but it is not bannable.
The only exception I can think of to the rule would be if a member of staff were to accidentally drop an admin item, and a player picked it up. I would expect that would be the only situation where a player would be required to forfeit the item. This is kind of like the spawn eggs being taken from all of us a while ago.
Be honest, is there anything else left to talk about? I feel like the correct answer has been given. Not illegal (fair because this is within the rules, and anyone in the game can do this without risking a ban, or item confiscation), but simply a douche move. I am sorry that this happened to you however.
