Suggestions / Re: animal killing/greifing
« on: April 14, 2013, 04:58:48 am »
You know, while protection for animals would be great, I'd rather have the challenge of having to keep them safe. It is a challenge to make sure security is fully buffed up and all.

Just my two cents on it.

It is bad that players kill other player's animals without permission, but it's just like in real life. The coyote roaming the neighborhood doesn't have permission to eat your cat, but will do it anyways so you gotta protect the cat.
By that logic, protecting against grief would also be a challenge, and the mods should do nothing about it since it's a challenge. I understand that you're not suggesting that we do this, but I still reject that way of thinking.

Would you rather find a diamond vein with 3,261 diamonds in it or have someone randomely give you 100k?
Well, given that diamonds are priced at about $50 per diamond, and that a diamond ore can drop 1-4 diamonds when mined with a Fortune III diamond pickaxe, that would make 13,044 diamonds maximum, and for $50 each, that would be $652.2K, which is far higher than 100K. However, that is assuming that you get 4 diamonds per ore. Since there are equal chances of getting 1, 2, 3, or 4 diamonds from any ore, it is a fair assumption to say that from 815.23 (3261/4) ores you get 1 diamond, from another 815.25 you get 2 diamonds, etc. That would make a total of 8152.5 diamonds, and since each sells for $50, that would be 407.625K. $407,625 > $100,000. I would choose the diamonds. Minecraft Science strikes again!

Would you rather be subjected to nonstop conspiracy theories or nonstop Rebecca Black?

Moderator. I never cared about getting a rank higher than that.

I predict the next person is in the western hemisphere
This post. This is the biggest fail I've seen on this topic.

Would you rather live in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia?

This should be posted in Support under SMP, not Server Software Support.

And I don't know how to fix this, sorry.

Kitty. Running over a lion would be close to getting in a car accident, especially at high speeds. I know, I do physics.

Would you rather be sentenced to death or be sentenced to life in prison?

Wyboth that is the one thing that will be fixing! we are going to make it more castle like then boxish like we still have a few things to fix up on that kind of stuff. We are just taking a break and waiting to see if we get this protection.
Okay, good. Personally, I'd like to see it done before applying for protection, but that's just me. Good luck with this.

We can't honestly be expected to accommodate for the ignorance of people.

The rules are there for a reason. To be read and followed.
My point exactly.

I suppose it is a lesser of two evils. As Crzy said, there are the spammers, but there are also the noobs who won't read the rules, get frustrated when nobody can hear them, and ragequit. Personally, I think the noobs are the lesser of the evils.
